01 Inchture Cottage

NEW BUILD DEVELOPMENT

Situated in the former orchard of Rose Cottage, within the Inchture Conservation Area, these two dwellings sought to build on the historic fabric of the village, creating a space for modern family living, while maintaining a traditional, modest cottage appearance from the approach.

The brief was to provide flexible living accommodation which opened out onto the garden grounds associated with each dwelling while ensuring there would be no overlooking from the surrounding neighbours. The living/dining/kitchen area within each dwelling is identical with a mezzanine level above the kitchen to provide additional space for a snug/office.

The ceilings have been exposed within the living room to provide an added sense of space with the ceiling height being raised throughout the dwellings to give an implied sense of space.

The cottage element of the dwellings are rendered in a traditional wet dash render, with a smooth Siberian Larch cladding used to contrast the rough textured render. Despite these being part of a development, the interiors are finished using high quality materials with natural timber flooring supplied by Russwood.
